A life-saving “FREE” training event for firefighters & medical providers treating fire smoke exposure!

Controlled burn participants require full PPE and SCBA, which is available upon request.

Course Description
This class is sponsored by the Fire Smoke Coalition located in Indianapolis, Indiana and RAE Systems. The course will be taught by some of the leading fire service experts on HCN and fire smoke toxicology. The following topics will be addressed:
October 20, 2012 (Classroom Session): 0900—0400
- Fire Smoke: Perceptions, Myths and Misunderstandings
- Air Management and NFPA 1404
- Atmospheric Monitoring on Every Fire Scene (HCN & CO)
- Pre-hospital HCN (Hydrogen Cyanide) Assessment and Antidotal Treatment
October 21, 2012 (Controlled Burns—Atmospheric Monitoring)
Focus on proper usage of atmospheric monitoring equipment with a focus on HCN and CO. Controlled burns will occur at LCETC, Vermilion.
